The growth of emerging economies has fundamentally changed the global economic landscape. Emerging and frontier markets are expected to experience steady and significant growth whilst the Western economies slow down.
We see a structural change taking place in the global economy with power shifting towards the emerging economies and wrote about it on our blog. To prepare for this change in tide, we invest in grassroots relationships and remain actively involved in high potential EM projects. We have also formally partnered, supported or sponsored the following EM initiatives:
Google engaged Amoo Venture Capital Advisory for their G-Nigeria 2011 event. The two-day flagship conference for software and business developers supports the start-up scene in Nigeria. Amoo ran investment readiness workshops on Scaling For Growth and Gearing Up For Venture Capital to help start ups understand how to position their companies when seeking funding. We were also part of the discussion panel.
place4BRICS is a London based network of technology entrepreneurs and investors that are from, involved or interested in opportunities in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Amoo created this platform and has since partnered with Queen Mary, University of London and Queen Mary Entrepreneurs to host monthly place4BRICS meetups.
Professionals for Africa (PfA) is a network of UK-based professionals, who either identify as African or have an interest in Africa. PfA hosts between 4 and 6 invite-only events a year and has over 3,000 members on its database. This network consists of successful individuals from a refreshingly wide cross section of industries and sectors. We co-sponsor and sit on the board of this organisation.
